| Every now and then, Ubisoft releases weapon packs for the game. They normally revolve around a certain theme, and each weapon is a special version based on a weapon that already exists. These special versions have boosted/nerfed stats, which are different in each pack. I will be posting new packs here, as I know not everyone here reads the official GRO forums. Feel free to say whether or not a certain weapon in a pack is worth it, not worth it, or just discuss the pack in general ^^ Up first: The Desert Pack! This is available from April 3rd (today) to April 30th (ages away). This pack has weapons which do higher damage with higher accuracy, at the price of some recoil and some damage to handling. Start saving! http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-91153-16&ct=tcm:6-231-32As it is, the ACR SV TAN and 6P41 SV TAN seem to be the best choices, although it's possibly the OC-14 4AO3 TAN could be good too, if it doesn't have a massive scope sway like every other SMG... | |

| TAN Armour is also cheaper during this event. The Level 17 armour is 9500RP, and the MK2 armour (I forgot what level you can get it at) is now 2250RP. | |

| The Tan armour is the tan armour already available, just available for cheaper. If you get the Level 17 armour, then you don't really need to get the end game armour. | |

| I really would like to get the LMG but it's so freaking expensive, 70k and the stats are only a little better then for the non-desert equivalent wich only costs 49k... oh well, if I have 70k at the end of april I guess I will get it, otherwise whatever | |

| Well tomorrow (april the 5th) if you win once everyday you will have 12500 then if you do the quests that will be 7500 that means that you will have 20k, only 50k left. i make around 100 per round (more but hey i like even numbers) 50000/100=500rounds. 500R x what 6-7 min rounds?= 3000min/60=50hours 25days left 50h/25d=2 so 2 hours a day for april gives you the gun, not counting common and rare drops that you will pick up on the way.

| Part two of the Desert Pack is out (http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-92060&ct=tcm:6-231-32), offering desert sniper rifles, SMGs, shotguns and pistols. Like the first part of the pack, they have increased damage and accuracy but also have more recoil and a poorer handling. | |

| Ubi has announced another pack, and if you think they seem to be going after our money, then... it looks like you might be right. http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-92069-16&ct=tcm:6-231-32The Gun Show is a two-week long event where every gun in the game is available for 1500GC. That's everything from level 1 to level 30 weapons (not including Desert Pack weapons). IMO it's probably the most awkward price you can pick, because you can't buy 1500GC- you have to either buy 885 (€4.99) or 2750 (€14.99). The former doesn't cover the costs, and the latter can only afford one gun. Also, it's worth noting that every gun before level 20 is available for much less, so be careful that you spend you money carefully. | |

| The newest pack is the Digital Pattern Material Pack- or DPM for short: http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-99056-16&ct=tcm:6-231-32Whereas most packs simply give a set boost and reduction to a particular stat (i.e., 5% more damage for 5% more recoil for every HLW gun), with this pack the devs have basically improved what each gun is already good at and then taken what the gun is bad at and slightly weakened it. So, for example, the MK16 SV DPM gets a boost to its already quite impressive accuracy and control, while gaining 0.1s for its ready time. The MG36KV on the other hand, loses 0.1s for its handling, has an increased RoF and a decrease in control. I think it looks quite good, but the problem is that Ubi somehow often manages to show different stats on the little poster thing to the actual stats in-game. Then there's the fact that these are only available in GC bundles, so you can't even the test the bloody things... EDIT: Never mind, my complaints about the bundles are just a demonstration of my inability to read. Individual weapons are 'coming soon', which I imagine means next week, but just remember they're going to be frigging expensive. | |

Hmmm - the last pack I remember, yes the guns were horrendously expensive RP-wise but rather cheap (actually cheaper than regular guns) if you bought them with GC. They haven't put up prices yet, so I guess we'll see about that - there may have been some kind of change in policies recently, it just felt a bit like that at times... | |

| I must say that I like having the loot turned off for a little while. Gives me a chance to actually use the dozen or so inserts I haven't scrapped. Also, DPM weapons are now available individually (for horrendous prices): http://groforums.ubi.com/showthread.php?14337-Shop-Update-KW23-2013-ForumsBasically, if you want to spend RP, you have to pay through the nose. If you want to spend GC, you have to spend quite a bit of money (€15/£12) for a bundle, but it is so much cheaper than buying them individually with GC. I have bought the Specialist DPM bundle, meaning I have a 7 day boost, some magnum ammo, a stupid looking avatar and those all important DPM guns. I'll review them once I've had some time to properly test them out ^^ | |

| Summer sale! <3 OK. The last sale ended 6 days ago. I have to say that these are far too frequent. Anyways... http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-102175-16&ct=tcm:6-231-32Looks like it will several deals, one each day, another one that lasts for a few days, a weekly one and one that lasts for a weekend. But as usual, these sales are all GC. :/ But there may be special events, like at Christmas, to win mystery boxes and even 25% boosts. And also, AC bundles -> shiny armour. Assuming the guns are the same as the ones available previously, here's a link to the AC stuff: http://ghost-recon.ubi.com/ghost-recon-online/en-GB/community-news/index.aspx?c=tcm:21-82542-16&ct=tcm:6-231-32Unfortunately a lot of these don't seem that worth it, given they don't offer much improvement, but they're so shiny... On a related note: Gold inserts are back in store. | |

| I've decided to post whenever something interesting in the sale catches my eye. Such as the M1014 AE. Which is available for 100,000 RP. Or about 1400 GC (about €10, two packs of 885 GC). | |

| Today, the M200 SD ALP, again for 100,000 RP or 3199 GC. A little review of it by Compass, one of the top players in America: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REHUlML8ij8Also, the GC sale for devices and upgrades has finished, and in its place is a mystery box sale: up to 30% savings and extra saving for bulk purchases, until the 23rd. Bronze grade mystery boxes are 90 GC or 900 RP, silver grade is 299 GC and gold grade is 499 GC. | |

| Today, Triton bundles are available, which are more accurate and have greater control while having increased ready time and lower RoF. | |
